Bowen returns to ECCC The screening committee

Bowen has also been a head coach a t Craigmont Jun ior High School in Memphis from 1982-84 and a t J ackson Academy since 1996. He has served as an assis– t ant at Georgia State Univer sity and Armstrong State College, both in Georgia and was a graduate assistant at the Univet sity of Mississippi. Bowen graduated from

Craigmont High School in Memphis in 1979. He received his bachelor's degree from Christian Brothers College in Memphis and has done graduat e work at Memphis State and Ole Miss. A press conference was scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, on the campus of East Central Community College, announcing the addi– tion of Bowen to the coaching staff. The screening committee's memo closed by adding, ''The committee enthusiastically and unanimously voted, by secret ballot, to recommend that Mr. Jay Bowen be employed as head basketball coach at East Central Community College." Bowen has reportedly signed a one year contract to end on June 30, 1999.
