Groundbreaking for ECCC Facility

0 ECATUR--Participating in groundbreaking ceremonies for Phase I con– struction of the new Srudent Sen ices. Denver Brackeen of Union, former ECCC dean of students; Gene Davis, ECCC director of adult and continuing education and former dean ofstudents; Dr. Eddie M. Smith, ECCC president; and Darin McDorman, MCO Construction, con– tractors for the new facility. The I4, I04 square-foot structure will house office space for Student Services personnel and is being constructed at a cost of$2,232,830.50. Funding for the much-needed facility comes from state bond sources with no indebtedness to the College or to the five dis– trict counties. When Phase [ is completed, construction is expected to begin on the second phase of the project which will house the Office of Admissions, Records and Research, College bookstore, recreational space, study areas and a food court.
