The three Warriors - Choctaw Central girls coach Willis Tullos, Coldwater girls coach Wen SpJVa Jr., and Lanier boys coach Thomas Billups - led their respec– tive teams to state championships in the 1996 state high school basketball tour– nament Tullos (EC Class of 1964) led the Lady Warriors to the 2A state title with a 56-45 win over previously-unbeaten am top-ranked West Tallahatchle Saturday night. Spiva, who was a manager on the 1988 and 1989 ECCC football teams, led the Coldwater Lady Cougars to a 31-3 re– cord and the 3A state title with a 65-55 win over Bassfield Thursday night.
