Ethridge, ·chairman of he Division of Social Science, Business Administration md Education at East Central Community College in )ecatur, was recentl_· selected an honorary member of the :::ollege's Theta Xi Chapter ofPhi Theta Kappa, the inter– lational honor societ) of the two-year college. In recog– •izing Dr. Ethridge, who bas taught social science classes 1t East Central since 1961. chapter officials cited his "dis– inguished service" to PTK and field of education. A long– ime advocate of academic excellence, Dr. Ethridge was •ne of the first instructors trained to teach the Phi Theta (appa Leadership Denlopmeot Course. He continues to nake significant contributions to the program by teaching :10t only a leadership course for ECCC students bt;~t also assists in presenting the Leadership newton County pro– gram for local communitJ leaders. Dr. Ethridge was hon– ored during ceremonies to induct East Central students into the prestigious honor society.
