ECCC NONTRADITIONAL STUDENT HONORED Patricia Trest (right) of Philadelphia, a 1996 honor graduate of East Central Community College, is among recipients of a Presidential Leadership Scholarship to attend Mississippi State University. Trest was presented the prestigious scholarship, valued at $4,800 for two years of study, during ECCC Awards Day activities recently held on the Decatur campus. A liberal arts major, Trest is shown receiving her award from Ann Burkes, ECCC librarian, who serves as an advisor for the Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of the two– year college. Trest is among many nontraditional students who have attended ECCC and con- ,..– tinued their education at four-year coUeges and universities.
