"Community/junior college transfers are among some of our best and brightest scholars, and we value their presence on our campus. These scholarships rep– resent our commitment to pro– viding educational opportunities for Mississippians." Buggs will enroll in the Ole Miss School of Pharmacy. An Honors Program participant, Buggs was a member of Mu Alp– ha Theta and Sigma Sigma Mu Tau academic honoraries. She received the Frank and Nena Leatherwood Scholarship in Bio– logical Sciences and the Miller A ward in Medical Services. She has been active in extracur– ricular and community activities. She worked part-time through– out her college career. At ECCC, Buggs was a peer counselor and served with the Warri~r Corps in recruiting efforts and hosting special campus events. She per– formed with the Warrior march– ing and concert bands, as well as with the Concert Choir and the Collegians vocal/instrumental ·group. She will appear this sum– mer with the Collegians at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta. She helped raise funds for the Oklahoma City bomb victims, assisted in promotional actdivi– ties for a state senatorial candi– date, and was , ewton County's representative in the farm Bureau Queen contest.
