New members of hte 1996-97 East Central Community College baseball team were recently an– nounced by head coach Jamie Clark. Signees include pitcher Dan Gressett of Lake; pitcher Brian Hardy and outfielder Zach San– d ers, both of Philadelphia; catcher Joey Smith of Hickory, catcher Joey Burchfield of Louis– ville; first baseman Greg Wood and outfielder Jeremy Chaney, both of Decatur; outfielder Eric Weaver ofNewton; pitcher Dean Murray of Pascagoula; pitcher Travis Matherene of French Set– tlement, LA; pitcher Seth Hebert of New Iberia, La; and second basman Kevin Grier of Baton Rouge, LA. Last year the Diamond War– riors experienced a record- ~~ campaign by posting 31 victones and qualifying for their first appearance in the Region 23 Tournament.
