RECEIVE HONORS East Central Community College women's basketball coach Sammy Pace and sophomore standout Melody Reed of Forest received various honors following the 1995-96 campaign. Pace was selected MACJC Women's Basketball Coach ff the Year after leading the Lady Warriors to the South State Tournament championships and an 17-11 overall record. The ECCC women also won the regular season title prior to com– peting in the South State, State and Region 23 tournaments. Pace has led the Lady Warriors the past 11 seasons, compil– ing an overall record of 182 wins and 102 losses. He previ- – ously led successful basketball programs at Hickory, Scott Central and Sebastopol high schools. Reed, who averaged 23 points and 16 rebounds this past season, was named All– Region 23, all-State and All-Star. Also receiving post-season recognition was Lady Warrior Mona Owens of Warren, Arkansas, an honorable mention All-State selection.
