STATE CONTEST WINNERS Winning first place honors in their respective areas of competi– tion in the 1996 Mi issippi Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference were East Central Community College students Christina Miller of Vnion and Sam Beckham of Carthage. Miller, a freshman coputer operations major and Neshoba Central product, won top honors in Computer Applications while Backham, a sophomore majoring in Computer program– ming technology, won first place in Computer Programming. Beckham is a graduate of Edinburg High School. Both will compete in the National PBL Contest scheduled in Washington, D.C., July 13-16, 1996. ECCC Softball Tourney IAuction The third annual East Central Community College HOSA (Health Occupation Students of 1\merica) Co-ed Softball Tournament and silent auction will be held Saturda>, April 27, on the ESCO ..,oftball fields in Newton. Entry fee for the douhle chmi-

nation tournament is $100 per team. Deadline to enter is Monday, April 22. Checks should be made payable to the ECCC HOSA Chapter. Various activ ities are also planned throughout the day, includ– ing face painting and free blood pressure screening. Barbeque chicken plates will be available for purchase as will other concessions.
