Brezeale scholarship established at ECCC
Chnstian service. Preference will be g1ven to Baptist students, with selection made by the, ECCC Scholarship Committee. To be eligible for the scholar– ship, a student must: (I) be a high school graduate as venfled by a high school transcript; (2} be a first-time, entering freshman in the fall semester; (3) demonstrate financial need on a current federal student finan– cial a1d form; and ( 4) provide letters of recommen– da••on from his/ her high scho~l pnnc1pal, local pastor and a person– al acquaintance. To retain the scholarships for the four emesters of eligibility, the rec1p1ent must maintain a 2.5 cumu– latl\·e grade point average as a stu– dent at East Central Community College and exhibit those character– isucs which are expected of one ""ho Intends to follow a career in full-time Christian service. A trust fund has been established at the Mississippi Baptist founda– tion by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Breazeale of Jackson to provide financial assistance for qualified student to attend East Central Communit\ College in Decatur. • The Breazeales are both alumm of East Central and nati' es of Philadelphia. Mr. Breazeale. co– fou nder and partner in the account– ing firm of Breazeale, Saunders and O' Neil, Ltd., in Jackson, ~,~oa select– ed ECCC's Alumnus of the Year m 1994. Scholarships granted under the trust will be called the Paul \'. and Voncille H. Breazeale Mm1 tenal Scholarships. Distributions to ECCC from the trust will com– mence in the first calendar year after which the principal balance of the trust exceeds $1 0,000. The award will then be presented on an annual basis to an incoming full-time fresh· man who demonstrates financial need and who is enrolled in a cur– riculum which will prepare the stu– dent for a ministry in full-time
