Pittman scores late to boost East Central From Special Reports Mack Pittman scored on a 4-yard run with 1:4lleft in the game to give East Central a 20~15 victory over Northwest Thursday night at Senatobta. East Central, now 3-0, is ofHo its best start since the 1970s. Northest falls to 1-2. Trailing 15-14, East Central took over on its own 34-yard line with just over three minutes left in the game. Quarter– back Jake Kizziah set up the winning touchdown when he passed 53 yards to Timmy Livingston at the Northwest 8- yard line. Three plays later, Pittman scored Southwest 16, Northeast 6 : Darryl Jefferson re– turned a fumble 7 yards for a touchdown to give Sout h– west t he victory at Summit. Northeast. 0-3, led 6-3 after three quarters thanks to Alex Maldonado's field goals of 27 and 38 yards. But Southwest rallied in the fourth quarter to improve to 2-1. Kendric Barnes put the game out of reach with a 21- yard run. Southwest"s Kevin Pond kicked a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter. Jones 38, Coahoma 7: P.T. Jones scored three touchdowns to lead Jones to a victory over Coahoma Thursday night at Clarksdale. Jones scored on runs of35, 7 anrl31 yards. Coahoma got on the scoreboard in the fo~rth q~arter when Kelvin Love passed three yards to Mtchael Red– dies for the touchdown- Coahoma's first ofthe season. Jones improves to 2-1, while Coahoma drops to 0-3·.
