Harris receives education fellowship

Nancy Harris, director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at East Central Community college in Decatur. has been named a " Fellow·· b~ the Miss. Education Policy Fellov.ship Program (EPFP) for the 1996 inau– gural year. By receiving this honor, the Philadelphia resident will have an opportunity to continue her pro– fessional growth, develop a nation– al network and become more involved regarding state and federal policy processors. EPFP is an in-service lead– ership program that operates in 14 sites across the country. Fellows are mid-career professionals who v..ork full-time in education; health and human science; public, pnvate and non-profit sectors; business: and community settings. Every year, groups of 20-30 individuals are selected to participate as Fellows at each of the program site . There is currently over 4,000 alumni nation– wide. Through a series of semi– monthly, on-site training activities (20-25 per year) including semi– nars, site visits, skill development workshops, interactive and experi-

entiat actiVIties, and individual and/or group projects - Fellows are given opportunities to explain indi– vidual leadership development, state and national policy and critical social issues, and their connected– ness. Throughout thy program year, Fellows relate their new learning to their indiv1dual jobs and work– places. Harris has served as ADN director since 1993. The College graduated its f1rst class of ADN graduates in May, 1996.
