'Miss Erma ' is 91.....•. Miss Erma Lee Barber of Decatur was recently surprised on her 91st birthday by East Central Communit) College President and Mrs. Eddie Smith who pre~cnt­ ed the former ECCC Dean of Women ~ ith a cake and other gifts. Miss Barber, who was bot n November 21, 1905, retired on July 1, 1971, folio\\ iog 20 years service on the Decatur campus and ;.. 46 total years service in the field of education. During her tenure, Miss Barber was considere, more than just a "dean, " she was also "a friend , counselor, chaperon and nurse" to the hundrt>ds of females who occupied Jackson and Newsome haiJs, said Dr. Eddie Smith.
