CLEVELAND -Although separated by about 260 miles, Coahoma's Tonya Norment and Pearl River's Elaine Powell have been side by side all season. Powell and Norment stayed in frrst and sec– ond place among the nation's women's junior college scoring leaders all season . Meeting face to face in t h e RC Cola Mississippi Community College All-Star Classic, Powell's 24 points edged Norment's 23. But it was Norment who had the last laugh, leading the North All-Stars to an 89-79 victory and garnering the Most Valuable Player
