SIGNS ECCC SCHOLARSHIP • Fonner Newton County High School standout athlete Freddie Gentry (left) recently signed a baseball scholarship to attend Easst Central Community College In Decatur. An Infielder, Gentry was a three-year starter fot Newton County where he led the Cougars In hitting last season v. lth a .454 batting average and received the best offen– sive player award. During his junior campaign, Gentry estab– lished a record 18-game hitting streak. Gentry was also Instru– mental in lea~!ng Newton County to the State playoffs In eacn of the last four years.
