Former ECCC Student Honored ... Teresa N. St roud (right) of Philadelphia , a 1995 honor graduate of East Cen– tral Community College, bas received a Presidential Leadership Schola rship to attend Mississippi State University in Starkville this fall. Shown making the award presentation is Ed Davis, associate director of college and school relations at MSU. The scholarship, ~ alued at $4,000 fo r two years of study, was awarded in recognition of Ms. Stroud's " role as a leader of her class" while a community college student. She was also recognized for her " academic achit:ve– ment, intellectual ability and leadership potential. " Ms. Stroud, who plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in music education with piano emphasis, is also a recipient of a music scholarship and the William Winter Scholarship from Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learn– ing. She received an associate of arts degree in music education with piano emphasis in Ma), 1995, and earlier earned an associate of ap– plied \cience degree in computer programming, both from ECCC. For the past six and a half years she bas been emplo)ed as a secretary for Student Services at ECCC while continuing her education. She is the daughter of Doyce and Peggy Stroud of Philadelphia.(EC Photo)
