Johnson named Nat'l scholar ·in field of surgical nursing

The American Association of Su rgic al Technol ogists has recently named James Bradley Johnson of Lena a National Collegiate Scholar in the fi eld of sur gical nursin g. James was named a National Scholar due to his outstanding achievement in the classroom; as wel1 as, his knowledge of various surgical procedures in the clinical set– ting. James, a 1990 graduate of Carthage High School, 1992 and 1995 graduate fJf East Cen– tral Communit.} College 'ill be able to compete for over $50,000 in scholarships to com– plete his degree. Jame s will attend the National Health Occupat10ns Conference in LouisVllle, Ken– tucky in June to represent Ea!'t Central on the National Healthcare Issues Examina– tion.
