Also scoring for the Lady War– riors were Genia GriHin of Morton, 10; Brandi Harber of Union, 9: J.J. Moorehead of Union, Wilma Cook– sey of Lake, and Melody Reed of Forest, each with 6 points; and Cyn– tia Ellis of Newton County and LaDonna Robinson of Forest, each with 4 points. East Central held a 36-24 advan– tage at halftime. In men's action, the Warriors lost another close matchup by falling 77-75 to the host Bears. Leake Academy product Phllip Prince of Philadel phia scored 22 points to lead the Warriors, who dropped to 7-12 and 0-7. Other pointmakers were Mike Hurst of Newton County Academy, 10; Bobby Viverette of South Leake, 8; johnny Mays of Atlanta, Georgia, 7; 0.]. McNichols of Union, 5; Darvis Rasberry of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 4; Jamie Suttles of Noxapa ter, 3; Alphonzo Norman of Newton and Eric Caples of South Leake, 2 each; and Vincent Spencer of Ncshob,a Central, 1. Southwest led 41-22 at halftime. In games played againc;t visiting Gulf Coast Community College on January 17, the Lady Warriors cruised to an 82-60 victory while the Warriors dripped an 82-77 decision.
