ECCC teams post victories over Hinds

In games played Monday, Jan. 23, Prince scored 30 points and led the Wani.ors to a 72-64 win over Copiah-Lincoln Com– munity College, while the ECCC women dropped a 67-65 decision to the visiting Lady Wolves. Besides Prince, the·other top pointmaker was Mays with 20. Co-Lin led 36-3-t at halftime. Wilma Cooksey led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 14 points. Also scoring were Dane Vance, 13 and Davis, 10.

It was "sweep night" at East Central Community College last Thursday as the Warriors and Lady Warriors won handily over competition from Hinds Com– munity College. The Warriors, led by vincent Spencer's 18 points, cruised to a 92-71 victory and impr oved their season record to 9-12 over– all and 2-7 in division action while the Lady Warriors, paced by Genia Griffin and Monica Davis with 15 points each, won by an 85-70 margin. The ECCC women are now 15-4 overall and 7-2 in league play. Besides Spencer, other top ECCC pointmakers were Philip Prince, 16; Jamie Suttles and Darvis Rasberry, 14 each; and Johnny Mays, 12.
