The East Central Community Col– lege men claimed two South Divi– sion basketball victories last week as they improved to 9-12. EC swept Copiah-Lincoln and Hinds. The 15-4 Lady Warriors bounced back from a two-point loss to Co-Lin to trounce Hinds by 15. COPIAH-LINCOLN WOMEN 67, ecce 65: The Lady Warriors fell to Co-Lin for the second time this season as the Lady Wolves claimed the Jan. 23 victory in Decatur. After entering halftime knotted at 32-32, Co-Lin outscored EC 35-33 over the final 20 minutes. Wilma Cooksey led EC with 14 points. Dane Vance of Philadelphia had 13, Monica Davis 10, Melody Reed eight, J .J. Moorehead six, while Brandi Harber and LaDonna Robinson both had five. The Lady Warriors fell to 6-2 in the South Division and 14-4 overall. Co-Lin (6-1, 14-4) was led by La'Tassela Covington with 19 points, while Rhonda Lewis added 15. Philip Prince of Leake Academy led EC with a game-high 30 points. Johnny Mays tossed in 20, while Darvis Rasberry scored eight, Vin– cent Spencer six, Mike Hurst three, and O.J. McNichols three. The Warriors improved to 1-7 in division play and 8-12 overall. Nick Dillon led Co-Lin (4-3, 11-9) with 18 points, while Haashim Sim– mons had 17. Co-Lin led 36-34 at halftime.
