Leflore plays in NCJAA Tourney Carla Leflore of Carthage is

Women's basketball by main– taining a 3. 73 Grade point average. In addition, she is a member of the Warrior Corps, served as secretary for Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Body Association and is trea– surer for the sophomore class. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, an honorary math soci– ety and served as chairman of the elections committee. Leflo– re was also named to Who's Who Among American Com– munity arid Junior Colleges and to the National Dean's List. Carla has received numer– ous academic and athletic awards while at East Central including the Freshman Math– ematic Award. She r eceived the scholastic and free-throw awards for basketball, as well as being selected Freshman Player of the Year in her first season with the team.

among fifteen members of the Lady Warrior Basketball Team which represented East Cen– t ral Community College and Region 23 in the National Community/Junior College Athletic Association Tourna– ment played recently in Tyler, Texas. The Lady Warriors earned the coveted tournament slot by defeating Pearl River in the final game of the Region 23 Tournament. Only one team from the region, made up of community and junior colleges throughout Mississippi and Louisiana, gets the opportuni– ty to compete in the post-sea– son tourney. EC performed vert well in tournament play, winning three of the four games and earning a ranking of 7th in the nation. Leflore, a starting sopho– more, was also named to the Mississippi Community and Junior College All-Star team,
