Four of the state's top s ix public high school girls basketball teams will head to Neshoba Central Sa turday for the fifth– annual Clash of the Titans. Clash V has No. 4 Forest and No. 6 Cleveland Eas t Side opening the night's ac– tivities at 5:30. Neshoba Central hosts Lake at 7 and top-ranked Bogue Chitto squares off with No. 2 Noxubee County at 8: 30. Tickets a re $4 in advance at the Neshoba Central High School office and $5 at the gate. The main event of the evening could be billed as a " Clas h of the Champions" as Class 4A defending state champion Nox– ubee County takes on Class 1A defending sta te champion Bogue Chitto. Noxubee County used last year's Clash IV to knock off No. 1 Bay Springs en route to a 38-Q season. Noxubee County entered the week with a 26-1 mark with the lone setback being a 61·31loss to Shelbyville (Tenn.) in the finals of the Best of the U.S. Invitational at Shelbyville. One of Noxubee's wins last week was a 60-37 pounding of Neshoba Central. "We've got a pretty good record, but we're not as strong as we were last year," Noxubee coach Na rvel Colemon said. "We lost some real quality players." Coleman still has a standout in 5-foot-8 5enior Rosalyn Spann who averages 22 points per game. Other starters are 5-foot-811z senior Clara -\tkinson <9 ppg), 5-foot-u senior Tunda ' mith (8 ppg ), 5-foot-11 senior Penny Joiner (7 ppg), and 5-foot-4 junior Lemeaco Ivy <8 ppg>.
