EC athletes honored for academic achievements

Six former standout athletes at East Central Community have been honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association for their achievements in the class– room Selected Oistinguio;hed Aca– demic All-American, students with a 3.8 grade point average or above, are Kim Reel of Preston and Jamie Morrow of Harvey, Louisiana. Reel, an All-State infielder on the Lady Warrior softball team, graduated with a 3.85 GPA tn pre-physical therapy. Mo ow, a former pitcher and second team All-State selection

for the Diamond Warriors, posted a 3.87 GPA in business. Those named NJCAA All-Amer– icans, graduates with at least a 3.6 GPA, incl uded Clay Ward of Louisville (basketball), Mark Fan– ning of Hickory (baseball), Carla Leflore of Carthage (basketball), and Brandon Gray of Philadelphia (basketball). The former ECCC students were recently featured in JUCO RE– VIEW, the official publication of the National Junior College Athletic As– sociation.
