Attends PTK Conference.. . Representing East Cen– tral Community College at the 27th International Phi Theta Kappa Honors Institute held earlier this summer was sophomore Mike Hurst of Hickory wbo is shown with lnsUtute speaker Heidi Jacobus, presi– dent of Cybernet, a high-tech human engineering corporation. Hurst serves as president of ECCC's Theta Xi Chapter. The Institute, spon– sored by Mississippi-based Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society , featured scholarly speakers, break-out discussion groups, cultural events, and scholar bowl competition. Participants explored a myriad of issues related to the ociety' s 1994 Honors Study Topic: " Science, Humanity, and Technology: Shaping a New Creation."
