EC Warriors rumble; LadyWarriors stu~ble

The East Central Community College Warriors extended their win streak to 15 last week , while the Lady Warriors not only had theirs snapped at 14, but brought a two-game losing streak into this week's action. PEARL RIVER WOMEN 105, ECCC 101 (2 on: The Lady Warr iors had their unbeaten season hopes crushed in double overtime at Poplarville on Jan. 11. Rena Reed and Evelyn Nelson both had 23 points to lead ECCC. Carla Leflore added 20 and Monica Davis had 14. The Lady Wildcats led 33-29 at halftime as they improved to 4-Q in the South Division and 11-4 overall. ECCC dipped to 4-1 a nd 14-1. ecce MEN 62, PEARL RIVER 59: The Warriors held the Wildcats to just 23 points in the second half as they solidified their South Division lead at Poplarville on J a n. 11. ECCC improved to s-o in the South and 14-1 overall. PRCC fell to 3-1 a nd 11-4. Marcus Mann led the Warriors with 28 points. Michael Coats scored 10 and Cederic Sledge added eight. East Central . . . . . . . . . . . .29 33 - 62 Pearl River . . . . . . . . . 36 23 - 59 HOLMES WOMEN 75, ECCC 67: The 8-10 Lady Bulldogs stunned ECCC Saturday at Goodman. The Lady \\'arnors had won lhe first meeting by 41 points. Holmes Jed 36-26 at haUtime and the 14-2 Lady Warriors never recovered. The Lady Bulldogs are coached by former Leake Academy coach Larry Therrell. Rena Reed led ECCe with 16 points. Cassandra Kmg scored 14, Dane Vance and Cyntia Ellis both had eight. Evelyn 1'\elson tossed in six, and Memory Hunter added five. East Central 26 41 - 01 Holmes . . . . 36 39 - 75 ECCC MEN 67, HOLMES 57: The Warrtors made it 15 wins in a row Satur– day at Goodman. Holmes fell to 1-17. Anthony Coleman led the 15-1 Warriors with 16 points. Stacy Miller bad 14, Cederic Slerlge 13, Michael Coats eight, and Eric Morgan six.
