Handiwork, food preservation , horticulture and youth items will be shown in the conference room of the show grounds Thursday f1·om 1-4 p.m. The Queen of the Fair Pageant will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the Livestock Arena. It's all fun for the family so be sur e you don't miss the Newton County Fair this week. • The Board of Supervisors has made the final reappointments to the Newton County Economic Development Task Force. Those named wer e Dr. Horace May , Don Howington, Barba r a Hanna, Ruben Hoskin, Dr. Eddie Smith and Wilmer Whit– tle. The terms will be staggered for four, three, t\vo and one year each . The task force will draw lots to determine tenure for each board member. Subse– quent appointments will serve four-year terms. • Vandals are operating in Newton County again , stealing road signs and shooting holes in stop signs. It is cost ing the county money and could damage the E-911 system since without road
