Area residents among inductees to honorary society at ~CCC

DECATUR- A record 61 students attending East Central Community College in Decatur have joined Theta Xi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, an inter– national honor society of the two-year college. Also inducted during the spring semester ceremony was Dean of Instruction Dr. Phil Sutphin who received an honorary membership for his many years of service to t he East

Central chapter . Membership in PTK is by member– ship only, with freshman r equired to have at least a 3.4 grade point average and sophomores, a 3.3 GPA. Sponsors of the organization ar e Dr. Shelby Harris and Ann Burkes. New inductees from our area include John Dovovan of Enterprise and Sherri Jones ofMeridian.
