The top two teams from the state tour– nament will advance to the Region 231bur– nament Saturday at Meridian. • Glenn moves up to AA: Former ECCC slugger Leon Glenn of Louisville is on the roster of the El Paso Diablos of the Texas League. Glenn was the MVP in the Australian League championship series this past winter. Through 14 games, Glenn was batting .188.

• Noxubee's getting better: The Noxubee County baseball team made it through a pa1r of seven-inning games last week. They lost 7-1 at Starkville a nd 10-3 to Houston in Macon. For the season, the Tigers are 1-12 and have been outscored 192-39, or an average of 14.8 to 3.0 per game. • 4A powers could soon include Gautier: If Tuesday's bond issue on the Coast pass– ed. there should soon be another athletic· powerhouse in Class 4A. II it passed, Gautier High School would be created, taking some 800 students from Pascagoula High. Of those 800, some 272 boys and girls in grades 9-12 are currently participating in sports. Among the athletes from Gautier that have played at 'Goula are Terrell Buckley and Richard Harvey of the NFL, Antonio Harvey of the Los Angeles Lakers. Florida State wide receiver Kez McCorvey, and Houston Cougar running back Donald Moffett.
