WEEK Or Y- ~O

Warriors hope for good start atPRCC By A. Stacy Long The Meridian Star The beginnings haven't been good. Reese Bridgman's East Central Warriors have fallen behind early in each game in 1994. Each time they haven't caught up. "Every game we let the other team's offense take the ball and score," said Bridgman, whose squad trav– els to Pearl River Saturday. "'We get the ball, move it and turn it over," he said. "Or we turn it over quickly and give them great scoring posi– tion." ECCC (0-4) had it happen last week in a 28-12 loss to Gulf Coast. "We've done a lot of differ– ent things since I've been here," Bridgman said. "One year, we played well in the first half and not in the second half. Now it's the opposite." The Warriors travel to Poplarville to take on the Wildcats (1-3). Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. "They're going to bring it straight at you," Bridgman said. "They challenge you physically to stop you and have played a really tough schedule like we have." Hopefully, the Warriors won't let Pearl River bring it straight down the field on its first possession, Bridgman said. "If we ever ~et over the starts, we can tmprove and prevent those early deficits," Bridgman said. "I think it hurts us the most when it hap– pens right off the bat. "The players look over their shoulder and say, 'Here we go again.'"
