,;Sulf Coast breezes past ECCC 28-12
Gulf Coast quarterback Nicky Savoie threw for one touchdown and scrambled 43 yards for another score in leading the Bulldogs to a 28-12 win over ECCC Thursday night on the Decatur campus. East Central (04) crossed the goalline in the second and third periods. Gulf Coast, coached by fonner ECCC assistant J.C. Arban. padded its lead near the end of the first per– iod when Savoie connected with tight endWendell Davis on a 28-yar– d scoring play. The drive covered 52 yards. EC got on the scoreboard with 9:24 left in the second quarter when quarterback Bobby Breen hurdled Bulldog defenders from one yard
out Peyton Weems' PAT was wide left East Central scored the game's final points late in the third stanza when Breen fired an 11- yard strike to Omeri Green, climaxing a 40-yard drive set up by a Bulldog fumble. The Warriros' try for the two-point conversion was not successful.
