Even with all the distractions, East Mississippi has to travel to :\orthwest Thursday night. The Lions have had to deal with the death of a teammate this week. Sophomore tight end Eric Combs, a former West Lauderdale standout, died Friday night in a automobile accident. Three other players were in the same car as Combs, including lineman Cedric McGill, who will miss the remainder of the season with a broken femur. "I think the team has responded posi– tively," EMCC coach Tom Goode said.
