Home folks: Dedicating life to education

Enterprise Superintendent Ken Pouncey says seeing chil– dren mature over the years is why he's dedicated his life to the education system. Pouncey, a native of Enter– prise, started his teaching career in the Enterprise School Di.strict in 1962. Pouncey, who served as assis– tant principal ofBay Springs Middle School prior to becoming the district's superintendent, is a 1957 graduate ofEnterprise High School. Pouncey holds a master's degree in education from Liv– ingston University. He attended the University ofSouthern Mis– sissippi and holds a degree from Jones J unior College.

Pouncey, a Methodist, coached football for about 22 years, 16 of those years be served as head football coach at East Central Community College.
