ECCC resolution honors Harry Carter

A resolution in honor of Harry Carter. recently retired director of the Phtladelphia/ Neshoba County Vocational-Technical Center, a divi– sion of East Central Community College. was adopted by the college's Board of Trustees at its June meeting. The resolution was signed by ECCC President Dr. Eddie M. Smith and Boa rd Chairman V. C. Ma nning of Philadelphia. The resolution said Carter is an ..esteemed graduate of East Central Community College, who has serv– ed as director of the Philadelphia– Nes hoba County Vocationa l– Technical Center since its inception in 1983 is retiring effective June 30, 1994." lle has "prepared himself for a career in voca tional-technical education by completing the bachelor's and master's degrees at Mississtppi State University and a t– tending numerous conferences and workshops." The resolution said Carter "has a total of 35 and one-half years of ex– perience in secondary vocational– technical education ; has supervis– ed, coordinated, and refined the development and implementation of voca tional-technical education at the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Vocational-Technical Center.

" Carter is held in high esteem by his superiors, peers, and subor– dinates because of his untiring ef– forts on behalf of the college and the center .. . has worked dependably, tirelessly, and selflessly to keep the operations of the center in conformi– ty with accepted requirements and procedures. ". . . Has provided an excellent ex– ample for all through his caring, gentlemanly, and ethical manner . . . has demonstrated initiative in fulfilling the responsibilities of his position .. . has accepted and em– barked upon all work assignments in a professional and congenial man- ner .. . ". .. Has received commendation and praise from his peers and oth~rs for his effective efforts as director of the Philadelphia-Neshoba Couri– ty Vocational-Technical Center ; " The Board of Trustees of East Central Community College ex– presses its appreciation to Mr. Harry Carter and gratefully acknowledges his many contribu– tions to the institution," the resolu– tion said. A copy of tlhe resolution was spread upon the minutes of the Board of Trustees and a copy was given to Carter. The resolution was adopted on June 21.
