JUCO hoops East Central wants more

East Central's \lvomen's team made it to the nation– al tournament in Tyler, Texas, last year, finishing seventh in the country and going 28-7. "I think going back is in the back of some people's minds, " Pace sai d . "Realistically, we need to try to improve and play the best we can."

They've both got a game under their belts. - And with East Central's second contest of the year tonight, both Sammy Pace and Marty Cooper said their Warrior teams need to improve. "We look a little slow right now," said Pace, ECCC's women's basketball coach. "I think we're going to be strong, but we're not as strong as at some other times." Pace's Warriors beat Delta 70-45 last Friday, while Cooper's guys won 76-71. "We won but we didn't do too good," Cooper sai d. "We've got nine freshman and we're playing like we have nine freshman.
