Signs ECCC Scholarship... Melissa Loper (right) of Decatur has become a member of the 1993-94 East Central Com– munity College women's softball team following scholarship sign– ing ceremonies recently held on the Decatur campus. Loper, shown with her mother, Virginia Loper, was a member of the 1993 Newton County High School squad which won tbe State Class 3A Cham– pionship and posted a 35-10 record. East Cen&ral initially began women's softball competition this past spring ~ith an all-volunteer group that posted an 8-14 mark under...Coacb Mike Anderson.
