Receives honors Rece1v1ng special commendation during Phi Theta Kappa's Regional (MS·LA) Convention were East Central Com– munity College sophomore Sharon Eldridge (left) of DeKalb who was selected to the Order of the Golden Key, and math mstructor Dr. Shelby Harris, chosen Distinguished Advisor. Eldridge a secondary education maJor, is a graduate of Nashoba Central High School. East Central's Theta Xi chapter was also awarded F1ve Star des1gnat1on, the highest award a chapter can receive. Also serving as Theta Xi advisor is head librarian , Mrs Ann Burkes, a previous reel· pient of the Outstanding Advisor award. Phi Theta Kappa is an mternational honor soc1ety of the two-year college.
