A Union man died over the weekend due to aecidental drowning in a Tallahat- According to published reports, 19 year old Billy Joe Jones of Route 2, Union, died when he and some other youths swam out too far in the remote Askullmore chie County lake.

Mr . Billy Jo Jones Funer~l services were held for Mr. Billy Jo Jones September 27 from Retd Chapel Church of God. Rev. Lonnie Hill , Rev. James ~rown and. Rev. H.L. Rhodes officiated at the 3:00p.m. service with mtermem m the church cemetery. Mr. Jones, age 19, of Rt. 2, Union, died September 25 at Charleston, MS (Tallahatchie General Hospital). He was a 1992 graduate of Uni?n High School and was currently attending ECCC. He attended Re1d Chapel Church of God . . Survivor~ include pare~ts, Randall and Mona Jones of Union; siSter, Momca Jones of Uruon; brother, Jason Jones of Union; mater– nal grandmother, Blanche Savell of Union- paternal grandparents Bud and Sallie Jones of Union. ' ' Pallbearers were J ason Hill, Kevin Hill , Joshua Davidson Mark Anderton, !amie Wilkerson, Bruce Thrash, Henry Mitis and Jonathan Dtckerson. Milling Funeral Home of Union was in cttarge of arrangements.
