Smith, Vowell are chosen Academic All-Americans

on an "all-volunteer" squad which compiled an 8- 14 record under Coach Mike Anderson. The Decatur H igh School graduate is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Smith of Decatur. She is continuing her education at the University of Mississippi. Vowell, also a business ad ministration major, graduated }\linn a 3.712 grade point average. He \1•.4.' 3-1 as a starter for the 29-15 Ota– mond Warriors and had two sa"e'>. He threw a no-hitter in a 8-0 \\In over visiting Co-Lin on May I. Vowell was selected "Exempijlry Player of the Year" by Coach Jamie Clark. He signed a national letter of-intent with the University of Mississippi. The Nesboba Central graduate is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Vowell of Philadelohia.

Smith, a business administration major, graduated this past spring wilh a 3.956 grade point average. She was a first baseman/ outfielder
