East Cenual's Warriors won their seventh slright contest Thursday, Jan. 17 by totally dominating visiting PCMI River Community College in a key South Division battle. With the 95-74 victory, Coach Jay Bowen's squad improved lO 14-3 overall and 4-1 in league action. The Wildcats dropped to 9-6 and 1-4. In women's play, the Lady War– riors' second-half rally fell just short as Pearl River held on for an 81-77 win. Following their loss the Sammy Pace-coach team fell lO 9-4 overall and 3-2 in division competition while Pearl River bettered its record to 11-3 and 3-2. Tyrone Stowers and Tony Bailey led all scorers in the men's game with 17 points each. Other pointmak– ers were Michael James and Tyron Bender, 9 each; Terry Thames and Marvin Nash, 8 each; J.P. Viverette, 7; Kevin Kennedy and Vandy Hop– son, 6 each; Eric Mays, 5; Luther Riley, 3; andCharlieDonnerson, 1. East Central Led 55-34 at halft1me. Carolyn Boatman was top scorer for the Lady Warriors as she drilled 25 points. Paula Nash also had an outstanding scoring total as she accounted for 24 points. Also scor– ing were Shontel Lowe, 16; Jackie Gladney, 6; Beverly Ware, 4; Gloria Clay and Shea Oakley, 1 each. Pearl River led 45-37 at

Games Played Jan. 14 In South Division action Monday, Jan. 14, both East Central teams defeated Southwest MS Community College squads in games played on theSummit campus. In women's action, Carolyn Boat-~ man scored a team-high 18 points and led the Lady Warriors lO all- 81-67 win. The Lady Warriors led 40-29 at halftime. EC's men overcame a four-point deficit and blasted Southwest by an 84-66 margin. Leading the Warriors attack was Mark Stribling who had 16 points.
