Freshman Thny Bailey pumped in 28 points and led East Central Com– munity College to an 84-73 win over visiting Copiah-Lincoln in south division action Thursday night in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building. The East Central men, under second-year head coach Jay Bowen, are off to their best start in recent years and currently post a 12-3 overall slate and 2-1 mark in division play. Sammy Pace's Lady Warriors fell short of victory against the Co-Lin women who remained undefeated following their 74-67 victory. The Lady Wolves, ranked seventh na– tionally prior to the East Central contest, are 12~ overall and 2~ m league action. Following their loss. the East Central women fell to 8 3 and 2-l. Besides Bailey, other Warrior \ pointmakers were Tyrone Stowers, 18; Kevin Kennedy, 11 ; Terry c Thames, 10; Eric Mays, Vandy Hop– son and J. P. Viverette, four each . :, Tyron Bender, three; and Mark n Stribling, two. n Luther Bonds led Co-Lin C3-8, 1-1 ) 0 with 15 pomts. f East Central held a 40-28 halfti~e advantage. In the women's game. Carolyn Boatman's 22 pomts led all scorers. Other East Central pointmakers were Shontel Lowe, 14; Shea Oakley, 11; Jackie Gladney, 7. Paula Nash, 6; Beverly Ware, 3; Thnya Stowers and Brooke Smith. 2 each. A new addition to the Lady War– rior squad is Tammie Rigdon, a 5-8 freshman guard from Decatur.
