Tam, who auends East Central Community College, was nominated for th1s Nattonal Award by Dr. Shel– by Harris. She will appear in the All– American Scholar Directory, which is published nationally. At the spring Awards' Day C .-e– mony, Tam ri!Ccived the "Freshm n Math Award", and the "Secondary Education Award". · Tam is a Math Education major and plans to -=-t~nue her cducat.t1 1n at Mississipp State University.

D1c United States Achievement ademy announced today that Tam 1,er of Decatur has been named an All-American Scholar. The USAA has established the All-American Scholar Award Prog– ram in order to offer deserved recog– nition to superior students who excel in the Academic disciplines. The AU-American Scholars must cam a 3.3 or better grade point average. Only Scholars selected by a school instructor, counselor, or other quali– fied sponsor arc accepted. Those scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA.
