The United States Achievement Academy announced today that Kim Griffin has been named an All– American Scholar. The USAA has established the All-American Scholar Award pro– gram in order to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in the Academic disciplines. The All-American Scholars must earn a 3.3 or better grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school instructor, counselor, or t9cq qualified sponsor are ac– ci . Executive Director of the Uni~ed States Achievement Academy. Kim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Griffin of Decatur. At East Central Kim is a member of the Warrior Corps, Phi Theta Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Presi– dent's Council. She served a treasurer of the Freshman class and was recently elected treasurer of the Student Body Association. Kim is a member of the concert band and serves as drum major of the Warrior Marching Band. Upon graduation from East Central, Kim will attend the University of Mississippi major– ing in pharmacy.
I Receives Ole Miss Achievement Awar Jeffrey Glenn Hitt of Union has been awarded a Junior/ Communi– ty College T ransfer Achievement Award to attend The University of Mississippi. ' Hitt, who attended East Central Community College, plans to study EngJish and political science at Ole Miss. He is the son of Bobby and Geraldine Hitt.
