Kilpatrick forced out From ssarr reeorts After 10 years in Decatur, AJ. Kilpatrick is no longer welcane. But Central Community College officials announced Wednesday that Kilpatrick has resigned as head football coach, but reports have staled that his coo tract called for a winning season in order to retain his job. ECCC was 4-6 in 1991, after Kilpatrickcompiled a 10-year record of 36-63-2.
This resignation bas prompted an immediate search for a new coach. ECCC President Dr. Eddie M. Smith said the school plans to name a successor by mid-February. He said applications will be accepted for the coaching position through Jan. 24. Kilpatrick's resignation was accepted at the December 10, 1991, meeting of the college's Board ofTrustees. Smith said Kilpatrick, who bad an overaJI coaching record Qf 222-134-12, will contiDu.e his employment at EastCentral until bis ~tract ends on June 30, 1292.
