Clarke led 28-21 at halftime. Following the weeke~d tourna– ment, the East Central men. under first-year head coach Marty Coopelt improved to 3-1 while the Lldy Warriors, led by sixth year head mentor Sammy Pace, sport a 1-3 record. Also participating in the tw(Htay invitational tournament with East Central, Clarice and ltawamba, were squads from Jones County Junior College. East Central teams began the 1991-92 campaign at East Mississip– pi Community College on Novem– ber 4. During the non-divisional matchups, the Warriors won by a 92-78 score while the Lady Warriors fell by an 89-65 margin. In games played at MiSsissippi Delta Community College on November 6, the Warriors were vic– torious by an 89-67 tally. The Lady Warriors lost 82-68. Games This Week In games scheduled this ~ East Central will host East \fissis– sippi on Tuesday, ~ovcmber !2 8nd will participate in a tourna.mcnt at East Mississippi Community Col– lege on Friday and Saturday, 'ovember 15-16. The ECCC men will compete in a tournament at Ita– ""amba Community College sche– duled Monday and Tuesday, November 18-19. East Central will host MiSsissippi Delta Community College on Thurs– day, November 21. Game times are 6:00 p.m. for women's action with the men's con– test set to Sl8lt at7:45p.m.

Both East Central Community basketball teams defeated Itawamba squads during weekend tournament action held in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building. The Lady Warriors, led by Gloria Clay's 21 points, outscored ltawam– ba 82-72 on Friday night and cla.imcd their flrst seasonvictory. Hot-shooting Tony Bailey paced me Warrior attack with 26 points in leading his squad to a 91-80 win over the Jtawamba men during Saturday night tournament competition. Other pointtnakers for the East Central women were Brooke Smith, 13; Stephanie Wiley, 11; Misty Wright, 10; Nicole Flint and Shellie Griffm, 8 each; Amy Apperson, 3; Lisa Tucker and Tammy Ezell, 2 each. Itawamba led 35-32at halftime. Also scoring for the Warriors were]. P. Viverette, 19; Vandy Hop– son, 14; Luther Riley, 10; Robert Mikell, 9; Mark Stribling, 8; Mauh– ewRiley, 3; and Harold Scott, 2. East Central led 53-45 at halftime. In other tourney action, the East Central men feU to Clarice College S2-72 on Friday night and the Lady Warriors were outscored 60-44 by the Clarke women dunng Salll.Cd3} competition.
