ECCC cage bosses get commitments
"1 want to sign some this week_, " said Pace, whose team went 20-5 l1iis past season ami made the MJCA state and Regton 23 tournaments. "We' ve had ver– bal commitments from those. It's going to be interesting to see who signs who. " While Pace hasn't any out-<>f– staters currently under con– sideration, he is looking for a point guard. One possibility is 1989 Forest graduate Dorlissa Pinkston, who signed with ECCC las t year, but did not enroll. ECCC men's coach Jay Bowen had 15 players on campus Mon– day competing for four in-district spots. He anticipates signing several of the district players by Thursday. Among the group in Monday's tryouts were a trio from Class 2A state runnerup Philadelphia - 6-foot-5 Vandy Hopson. 6-foot :Mark Stribling, and S·foot-10 Chris Johnson. season. Also in that groupwere Union 's Richy Rivers and Sebastopol's 6- foot - 4 J.P . Viverette . Sebastopol participated in the Class IA statF tourney en route to a 24-4 mark. Union also bad a 2o-win season. Bowen plans to fill his only available out-of-state scholar– ship Thursday as well . The War– riors were 8-16 this past season.
