Phi Theta Kappa initiates These East Central Community College students from Scott County are among those recently tapped for membership by Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a national scholastic organization for community and junior college students. Membership in the honor society is by invitation only. To be eligible, freshmen must have at least a 3.4 grade point average and sophomores are required to maintain at least a 3 .4 GPA. Accor· ding to sponsors Dr. Shelby Harris and Mrs. Ann Burkes, the purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is " to promote scholarship, develop character and cultivate fellowship among academically superior students." Those chosen include, from left, Bridgette Futch, Connie Money and Dawn Bradford, all of Forest ; Melody Myers, Harperville; and Billy Walker, Forest.
