Guthrie wins top scholar award

Benjamin Jame:; Guthrie of Forest received a $3,400 scholar award at the l ' niversity of Southern Mississippi. Four students were chosen for the award from among 130 applica– tions. Requirements were a 3.5 or better grade point average upon the completion of at least 40 co~munity or junior college cred1t hours. Guthrie. a student at East Cen– tral Commumt;y College, is a presi– dent's list and dean's list scholar, and was named to Who's Who in American Junior and Community colleges. . His activitie at ECCC mclude Phi Theta Kappa, ECCC Presi– dent's Concil, Plu Beta Lambda.
