Legislature honors ECCC instructor, student ship, tennis and fitness and conditionmg.
Miss Wood is a graduate ofLouts– ville High School, East Central Junior College and the University of Southern MS, where she holds bachelors and masters degrees. After a 20-ycar interval between graduation at Hickory High School and enrollment into college, Mrs. Luke is aiming toward a degree in Library Science wilh minor empha– sis in English. She plans to become a library-media specialist for K-12 grades. At EC, Mrs. Luke, a sophomore, has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was named to WHO'S WHO AMONG STU– DENTS IN AMERICAN JUNIOR COLLEGES. Along wilh being a President's List Scholar, she holds membership in Phi Theta Kappa, national honorary scholastic fraterni– ty for two-year college students, and Student Education Association. She is married to Robert Luke, who is general manager for Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Deca– tur. They have three children, Richard, 17, a senior at DHS; Becky, 15, a freshman at Decatur; and Dan, 9, a third grade student at Boler Elemenbry School in Decatur. Following her graduation from East Central in May, 1990, Mrs. Luke plans to attend the University ofSoulhem MS.
Rep. Mike Parker, D-MS, will be featured spe3ker at the annual HEADWAE luncheon. House Speaker Pro Tern Cecil Simmons will serve as master of ceremonies. Other p:uticipants will include Gov– ernor Ray Mabus, Lieut~nant Go ·er– nor Brad Dye, House Speaker Ttm Ford, and Senate Prcstdent Pro Tern Glen DeWeese. Officials from the various institu– tions, the Board of Trustees of Insti– tutions of Higher Learning, the 1S Association of Independent Col– leges, and the State Board of Com– munity and Junior Colleges also w1Jl be present.
