EC announces adult basic ed classes

Auct ion slated September 8 at East Central

Instruction in English, math, writing, reading and preparation for the General Educational Development (GED) Test will be available this fall as part of the Adult Basic Education program of· fered at East Central Com· munity College in Decatur. Classes, which begin Tues– day, September 4. are schedul· ed from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Mondays and Wednesdays on the Decatur campus with even– ing classes being held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Decatur and at locations in Carthage, Thomastown, Philadelphia, Union, Newton and Decatur. The Adult. Basic Education classes are offered at no charge. A public auction is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Satur· day, September 8, 1990 at East Central Community College in Decatur. The auction will be held on the practice field near the Brackeen·Wood Physical Education Building. Items to be sold include beds, chest of drawers, miscellaneous dressers. desks, chairs and sofas which are surplus items from the recent dormitory renovation project. Olher items to be auctioned include a 1977 Chevrolet chool bus, cab and chassis from a 1974 Chevrolet two-ton garbage truck , laboratory tables from the Cross Science Building Renovation Project, cafeteria chairs and other miscellaneous surplus items. Bill Jones of Forest will serve as auctioneer.
