At its April meeting, the Board ap– proved the employment of Conrad R. Germany of Union as Automotive Body and Fender Repair instructor effective August I , 1990. Germany replaces Grover Shoemaker who an– nounced his retirement following a 26-year career at East Central. During the May meeting the Board also accepted the resignation of James R. Stroo as Economics 1 Business Administration instructor and approved the release of a position opening announcement concerning the vacant teacher's post. In the area of Policies and Pro– cedures, the Board approved resolu– tions commending Mr. Newell and Mr Shoemaker for their years of ser– vice to the college. The resolutions were presented during a reception held m the retirees' honor at the home of Dr. and 1\lrs. Eddie M. Smith. Trustees also received cop1es of the evaluation and revision of the college's Strategic Plan. Concerning Instruction, Dr. Brad Tucker, Dean of Instruction, gave a
